Looking Ahead

Next week will see Parliament return from recess, during which I have worked hard to meet as many local residents as possible. Returning to Westminster enables me to represent the views of constituents at a national level, whilst at the same time I will continue to spend as much time as I can in our...

Mid-Recess Report

Parliamentary recess is an important time for any Member of Parliament. I have taken the opportunity to become involved in a number of new projects, as well as meeting as many local residents as possible to better understand what matters most in our community. Knocking on doors and listening to the...

International Youth Day

On Tuesday, International Youth Day was reflected on with a particular focus on those suffering from mental health conditions. Supporting disadvantaged children is an extremely important part of today's society, and I know that a number of voluntary organisations continue to work hard to help them....

Warwick Folk Festival

Like so many local residents, I thoroughly enjoyed the Warwick Folk Festival at the weekend, and was impressed to see the number of people visiting the town from across the country. I was elected as Warwick and Leamington's new MP at the 2010 General Election, having previously stood at the General Election in 2005. Before my election I worked locally in Public Relations, having previously worked at Longbridge with MG Rover. I live in Warwick, and play an active role in our local community, serving as a governor of Myton School and as a a trustee of the Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs.

In Parliament, I am a member of the International Development Select Committee and have recently got my Private Member's Bill passed by Parliament - see the Social Value Bill Section above for more information. I am also co-chair of the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group, vice-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Poverty and Honourary Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Social Enterprise.  I regularly speak in the House on issues relevant to the constituency - for more information see News.

The constituency of Warwick and Leamington encompasses the historic town of Warwick, Leamington Spa, Whitnash and a swathe of Warwickshire villages including Hatton, Budbrooke, Hampton Magna, Norton Lindsey, Barford, Sherbourne, Wasperton and Bishop's Tachbrook. The constituency was created in 1885 and was once represented in Parliament by Sir Anthony Eden.
